Dance with the Devil by Breaking Benjamin

Dance with the Devil- Breaking Benjamin (Lauren)

I chose this song because this emphasizes Tam Lin’s relationship with El Patron. Although he doesn't like El Patron, nor does he think any good of him. He has to obey and follow him. Because El Patron holds something against him. How he was a terrorist, if he doesn't “dance with the devil” He will be turned over to those looking for him.
“Close your eyes, so many days go by. Easy to find what's wrong, harder to find what's right.” This shows that Tam Lin has two sides. His side that is so easy to find wrong is his terrorist side. He is ashamed of it. But only those who really know him realize the good In him. such as Matt.
“I won't stay long, in this world so wrong.” Tam lin Realizes there is corruption and he realizes what is wrong in the world they live in, but he has to follow El Patron because he has no choice.
“Don't you dare look at him in the eye, as we dance with the devil tonight” I think this emphasizes the danger of El Patron, and how he so powerful and getting on his bad side would be very stupid. “Very dark indeed is his majesty when he wants to be. When he was young, he made a choice, like a tree does when it decides to grow one way or the other. He grew large and green until he shadowed over the whole forest, but most of his branches are twisted.” (farmer 70)
“I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies.” Many people including El Patron lieto Matt all the time. Tam Lin is always there to set things straight and tell Matt the truth. "'I always say the truth is best even when we find it unpleasant. Any rat in a sewer can lie. It's how rats are. It's what makes them rats. But a human doesn't run and hide in dark places, because he's something more. Lying is the most personal act of cowardice there is´" (Farmer 134) Tam Lin values honesty, something that he shares with Matt, that many others don't.
I also find the beat and tune of this song to be very rough and bold, One of Tam Lin’s many personalities. :)
